BlaGra – Black and Grey/Gray
I tend to turn to Grey when I need something to pair my black colour pieces with when I have exhausted most options or am bored of my look. Funny enough I have a few grey tops and bottoms that I usually wear in winter and want to spruce up every once in a while for those dull winter days. It is usually not an easy colour for most to pull off but like I always say in fashion anything is possible.
Jazz Up That Colour…
A few suggestions I have tried and hope to explore in the near future:-
• I like adding a little bit of shine to my grey pieces when I purchase them like having a few pieces that have some sequins in them, satin or threading that shines(glitter thread)through usually helps take away that dull look of grey skies,
• One of my favourite options that I use on a regular as well as in this posts picture is grey and black although grey and white also works just the same. In my case the skirt is more of a charcoal grey and pairs well with my black top as shown. Though not as visible on pictures it has a lighter grey weaved within the wool fabric and as a result I usually wear an ash grey Zara polo neck at times with bold jewellery to make my look pop and not be as plain jane as the two colours seem to come off together. It just hasn’t been cold enough for polo neck this winter to my surprise and I haven’t worn one due to that as I would have shown both looks together.
• Lastly but definitely not the least as explained above, I love adding jewel tones such as cobalt, ruby, purple, as it just brightens up my look especially since grey kind of dulls up closer to the face I think for my own looks which may not apply to yours. This is the best option for everyone I seem to think and I dare you to try and love.
Something new I have noticed and see most men wear in combination is brown when they wear Grey Suits… I may have to try that combination of colours in the very near future. I am on the lookout for a hot grey suit that I can match with brown shoes, a bag and possibly a belt – Fingers crossed I can pull it off like the men do. And here I thought only oxblood, black and navy were the possible combinations to pair with grey, I guess we learn something new in fashion each day. Let’s just say the color grey is becoming quite versatile and I am up for a challenge.
